The San Francisco Giants subreddit, a 14-year-old forum with nearly 117,000 members, has decided to stick more closely to sports.
Tiring of the forum’s steady stream of anti-San Francisco posts, moderators of r/SFGiants decided earlier this month to take a heavier hand in removing criticism of the city. Sam, a Phoenix-based moderator, told SFGATE on Tuesday that the move is an attempt to cut out low-effort posts and keep the forum away from “rinsed and repeated” discussions about homelessness and drug use.
“We want the sub to be more positive,” he said. “It’s not really fun when you jump on and just every other post is bashing the city.
