The San Francisco Giants’ hot start to the offseason has fizzled out into excuses over their missed chances.
The Athletic published an article by longtime Giants reporter Andrew Baggarly on Thursday that provided a breakdown of how the ball club has done since the end of the season. The reporting paints a picture of a Giants front office that has done all it could but was held back due to forces outside its control.
Baggarly reports that the Giants’ front office has been “hyperactive” in trying to get trades going and made “legitimate offers” in pursuit of Kyle Tucker and Garrett Crochet, but teams asked too much in return.
