I’d rather be writing about Tyler Fitzgerald or Hayden Birdsong, and I suspect I will write about one or both of them this week (and after Fitzgerald homers again in this Dodgers series), but given that the Giants’ season hangs in the balance and the MLB trade deadline is in 7 days, I figure it’s worth looking at the roster situation. I’m confident they won’t be buyers, but there’s some notion out there that they could be sellers. Let’s look into that.
As the headline suggests, there’s really only one reason why the San Francisco Giants would be sellers within the next week: they’d like to get under the luxury tax threshold.
