The best thing the Giants have going for them at the moment is their location. And we’re not talking about AT&T Park. The NL West appears to be terrible, and that has allowed the Giants to stay right in the playoff race despite a slew of injuries to stars and glaring holes in the construction of the team. The Diamondbacks looked like the most complete team in the NL in April, but they’ve lost 13 of 14. The Rockies lead the West at 26-24 but their offense needs plenty of help. The Dodgers have played uninspiring baseball for two months, but the preseason favorites are just 3 1/2 games out of first.
