The Deets: The Bay Bridge rivalry, interrupted

No matter how bad the teams are, no matter how hot (or cold) the weather is, Bay Area fans want to attend games between the Giants and the A’s.

The old curiosity of the region’s two teams playing each other in inter-league play still sells. It’s a bright spot on the long baseball schedule.

Last year, the Bay Bridge series drew more an average of 38,000 fans for weekday affairs at Oracle Park and more than 50,000 on average for a weekend set at the Coliseum.
