Hello and happy Sunday.
This time last week, the San Francisco Giants had used 51 players on the year. I thought it might stay that way.
And then they selected the contract of Tyler Chatwood, put him in a game, and arrived at 52 players.
They’re not going to catch their record-setting 2019 total of 64 players, but where will they end up?
There are no sure fire players left to be added. The Giants are too good to mess around with traditional September call-ups (especially now that September rosters have shrunk), so you can say goodbye to an Heliot Ramos or Sean Hjelle debut, unless the latter does so well in AAA that the Giants honestly think he’s ready for the bigs.
