Good morning, McCoven!
You’ve all heard the commercials a million times on KNBR. “Wells Fargo and Brandon Crawford are teaming up to step up to the plate for education!” or something to that effect.
Anyway, it’s a pretty great cause. Many programs that aren’t deemed necessary in schools are losing more and more funding every year. So Step Up to the Plate splits up $100,000 in grants every year to K-12 schools. Schools are nominated by their communities, and not strictly limited to the Bay Area. Counties as far as Lake, Yuba, Sutter, San Joaquin, Yolo, Colusa, Butte, Mendocino, Humbolt, Tehama, and Shasta counties can also apply .
