SAN FRANCISCO -- The Giants selected the contract of left-hander Andrew Suarez from Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday morning, prior to Suarez's first career start in San Francisco's series finale against Arizona.
In corresponding roster moves, Madison Bumgarner was transferred to the 60-day disabled list and reliever Steven Okert was optioned back to Sacramento after one day with the Giants.
Suarez, the Giants' No. 10 prospect according to MLB Pipeline, had made one start for Sacramento this season this past Thursday in Tacoma, in which he allowed one hit but walked four over four scoreless innings.
