SAN FRANCISCO — The first significant move of the offseason brought back a familiar face.
The Giants and Derek Holland are in agreement on a one-year deal with a club option, per a source. Holland is guaranteed $7 million this year and will make at least $6.5 million in 2020 if the Giants pick up the option, with incentives that could make it a $15.5 million deal over two years. The agreement was first reported by The Athletic.
The deal represents a nice and deserved raise for Holland, who came to the Giants last year as a non-roster invitee.
