Aubrey Huff and Johnny Damon are among the six former Giants and A’s players on baseball’s 2018 Hall of Fame ballot, it was announced Monday.
Included in the list of 19 first-time candidates on the Baseball Writers’ Association of America’s ballot are ex-Giants Omar Vizquel and Livan Hernandez, along with one-time A’s Jason Isringhausen and Hideki Matsui.
Chipper Jones and Jim Thome also headline the newcomers on the ballot, which also features Trevor Hoffman, who fell five votes short last year, as well as former Giants star Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens and Vladimir Guerrero.
Huff, who has drawn a lot of criticism for his rants on social media the past few months, was on two World Series championship teams (2010, 2012) for San Francisco.
