With the odds of the San Francisco Giants making the 2024 postseason now firmly below 1% and much closer to zero than they had aimed to be on September 2nd, it’s time to turn towards offseason planning and figuring out a way to make 2025 feel not already DOA.
This hasn’t been his worst season of his career, but it’s a big step down from last season (just by ERA+: 114 this year vs. 128 last year) and it’s going to be his worst of his last 4 seasons. And this is a season where he made the All-Star team finally, a year after being the runner up to the NL Cy Young Award.
