The San Francisco Giants lost their fourth game in a row today, falling to the St. Louis Cardinals 9-4.
Despite the score, the one bright spot of this game was the defense. Which is what you want behind a ground-ball pitcher like Jordan Hicks. Unfortunately, it was the home run ball that did the Giants in in this game and there’s nothing the defense can do about that.
The game started promisingly enough, with the Giants taking a three-run lead in the first inning. Brett Wisely singled to lead things off, advancing to second on a fielder’s choice hit by Heliot Ramos.
