The hot dog vendors outside of Oracle Park have quickly become as big a part of San Francisco Giants games as garlic fries, crab sandwiches and Ghirardelli sundaes.
But not everyone is excited about the public vendors. In fact, the Giants and a task force involving several San Francisco government agencies seem to be trying to stop what they deem is the sale of unsafe food.
The San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH) confirmed to SFGATE that health inspectors were at Oracle Park for Monday’s Giants-Cubs game. A Redditor also posted about the health inspectors around the ballpark on Monday night along with a photo of a new Giants-approved sign posted outside of the Lefty O’Doul Gate on the stadium’s first base side, trying to stop “unauthorized vending” at Oracle Park.
