SAN FRANCISCO — Veteran catcher Rob Brantly made the San Francisco Giants’ Opening Day roster, but he didn’t last long as Chadwick Tromp replaced the left-handed hitting Brantly less than a week into the regular season.
Brantly was designated for assignment to create room for Tromp and ended up spending the last month at the Giants’ alternate camp in Sacramento, but the club announced Wednesday it found a new home for Brantly.
The Giants have traded the 31-year-old catcher to the New York Yankees . . .
