The San Francisco Giants' youth movement continues. Casey Schmitt and Patrick Bailey have given a jolt of energy to the major league roster; next up, Luis Matos?
The 21-year-old outfielder has been absolutely raking for the Triple-A Sacramento River Cats. Since moving up the ranks from Double-A in mid-May, Matos is hitting .396/.434/.660 with six home runs, 19 RBI and an OPS of 1.094 in 23 games.
It's a huge turnaround for Matos offensively. He struggled in Single-A Eugene last season to the point where it wasn’t even a lock that the Giants would protect him in the Rule 5 draft.
