SAN FRANCISCO — For the second time this year, Giants manager Gabe Kapler named Johnny Cueto his Opening Day starter.
More than four months after originally tabbing Cueto to start the Giants’ 2020 opener at Dodger Stadium, Kapler did so again on Tuesday as the club prepares for an abbreviated 60-game season.
Cueto received the nod for the first time on March 11, the last day the Giants competed in spring training before Major League Baseball paused camps due to the coronavirus pandemic.
