In the wake of Farhan Zaidi’s ouster as president of baseball operations for the San Francisco Giants, beat reporters have served a final helping of news nuggets about the fired executive.
The first batch came from NBC Sports Bay Area’s Alex Pavlovic, who reported on Monday that the “coldness” with which Zaidi did business took its toll on the clubhouse. Last year, there was discontent over fan favorite Brandon Crawford’s being kept in limbo while the Giants pursued, and failed to sign, Carlos Correa. This year, it was the way the organization handled two heralded prospects in the Giants’ system, Marco Luciano and Thairo Estrada, the latter of which “frustrated many in a clubhouse that already was confused by the general plan.
