SF Giants land future Hall of Famer Justin Verlander on one-year deal

The San Francisco Giants are signing future Hall of Fame pitcher Justin Verlander on a one-year deal, according to multiple reports. ESPN's Jeff Passan was first to report the deal, which is pending a physical. No dollar amount has been reported yet, either.

Verlander, who will turn 42 in February, is coming off of a tough season in Houston, going 5-6 with a 5.48 ERA in 17 starts. But the future Hall of Famer won a Cy Young award just two seasons ago and has more wins than any active pitcher in baseball (262), giving the Giants rotation a veteran presence to supplement their youth.
