SF Giants’ Jaylin Davis: Kneeling for anthem will keep ‘the conversation going about racial justice’

After several days of team discussions regarding possible national anthem protests, Giants manager Gabe Kapler, two assistant coaches and at least four players took a knee during the playing of the anthem before Monday’s exhibition game against the Oakland A’s.

Outfielder Jaylin Davis, the lone Black player on the Giants’ travel roster Monday, was among the players who knelt and posted an explanation of his decision to Twitter on Tuesday.
