San Francisco Giants assistant coach Alyssa Nakken has broken down many barriers since becoming named the first female baseball coach in Major League Baseball history. She took down another one this week when she trotted out on the field to coach at first base. It was the first time ever that a female has coached during an MLB baseball game.
"You feel a sense of pride being to be out there," Nakken said afterward. "It’s the best place to watch a game, that’s for sure."
Nakken admitted it was a little easier to deal with her historic moment with the lack of fans in the stands because of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
