SF Giants closer melts down after horrible outing in team's win

While the Giants offense exploded Sunday to help the team win 13-6 and avoid a sweep by the Los Angeles Angels, San Francisco closer Camilo Doval had an incredibly rough outing — and took his frustration out on an ice chest in the dugout.

Doval entered to pitch in the ninth inning with the Giants ahead 13-2 and had arguably his worst outing of the season. He let up four runs on four hits and two walks while only recording one out, and threw only 13 of 29 pitches for strikes.

After Giants manager Bob Melvin came out to pull Doval from the game, the pitcher nicknamed “Tranquilo Camilo” because of his typically stoic demeanor went into the dugout and grabbed a cooler filled with ice, lifted it over his head and slammed it down into the ground, sending ice cubes flying.
