Las Vegas, Nevada — The San Francisco Giants announced today they have claimed outfielder Mike Gerber off waivers from the Detroit Tigers.
Gerber, 26, spent the majority of 2018 with triple-A Toledo appearing in 74 games, batting .213 with 13 home runs. He made his Major League debut on April 20, 2018 vs. Kansas City and appeared in 18 games overall with the Tigers. Gerber was named to the Eastern League Mid-season All-Star Team and was selected as an Organization All-Star by MiLB.com in 2017.
