The San Francisco Giants are slated to use a die-hard Dodgers fan as their public address announcer for Opening Day on Friday, as well as the whole first regular-season weekend.
C.J. Silas is scheduled to be on the mic for the entire three-game series against the Padres, according to the San Luis Obispo Tribune. She was the PA announcer for the Giants’ exhibition game against the A’s last week. The Giants did not respond to an SFGATE request for confirmation by the time of publication.
Silas is the first of “several” people the Giants say they will use as they seek their replacement for Renel Brooks-Moon, who was Oracle Park’s PA announcer for its first 24 seasons.
