SF Giants appear to be too cheap to stream spring training games

For San Francisco Giants fans who spent all winter waiting for baseball to return, the start of the Cactus League this weekend was a welcome sight — that is, if they flew down to Arizona to see it live.

The Giants are scheduled to play 30 games (and a prospect showcase as a 31st) down in Scottsdale this spring across 27 days, with three days of “split squad” games. Of that month’s worth of action, the Giants are putting up video broadcasts for only four of the games, meaning Bay Area fans of the Bay Area team won’t be able to actually watch any spring ball until March 8, when the Giants are set to air their first local broadcast.
