SAN FRANCISCO — After coming off the bench to make history in Monday’s exhibition game in Oakland, San Francisco Giants assistant coach Alyssa Nakken is receiving the starting nod for Tuesday’s game against the A’s at Oracle Park.
Nakken, 30, who became the first woman hired to work as a full-time MLB coach this offseason, coached first base in the late innings of Monday’s 6-2 Giants win, making her the first woman to coach in an on-field capacity in a major league game.
