National League manager Terry Collins has named San Francisco Giants‘ Johnny Cueto as the starting pitching in the 2016 MLB All-Star Game in San Diego. Cueto’s finished the first half of the season with a 13-1 record, 2.47 ERA, 115 strikeouts and a 1.00 WHIP.
“I wasn’t holding hope that I was going to start the game,” Cueto said through translator Erwin Higueros. “I was just going to be happy participating in the game. I’m very happy, and just happy to be here, and to be able to start the game.
