Sergio Romo's one-year deal with the Dodgers appears to be done, pending a physical.
Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports reported Romo accepted a $3 million contract, "significantly less" than he could have gotten elsewhere. Jesse Sanchez of MLB.com said Romo's other suitors were the Rays and Yankees.
My quick take:
Giants fans are understandably heartbroken that Romo will go to the Dodgers, just as they were when Brian Wilson did the same.
Keep in mind that the Giants did not pursue Romo. They decided at winter's start that they would not re-sign Romo, Santiago Casilla or Javier Lopez, moving on from the three stalwarts and starting a new chapter with Mark Melancon and the less experienced (and cheaper) relievers who have emerged.
