You probably don’t know what position Mauricio Dubón plays. I don’t say that to disparage your knowledge of Dubón, it’s just ... no one knows what position he plays.
When the San Francisco Giants traded for Dubi in 2019, he was thought to have a future primarily at second base. But the team played him much more at shortstop that year. Then he showed up in 2020 and spent the majority of the year in center field — a place he’d never played before. And now there are reports that the team is having him take reps at third base.
