Hello and happy Saturday.
The San Francisco Giants were quiet on Friday, but there was still MLB news to celebrate. The Miami Marlins hired Kim Ng to be their next General Manager. She becomes the first woman to be an MLB GM, the first Asian-American to be an MLB GM, and is believed to be the first woman to hold that position for any major professional men’s sports team in North America.
You might recall that the Giants were interested in Ng two years ago when they were looking for a president of baseball operations, before ultimately hiring Farhan Zaidi instead.
