Santiago Casilla rescues Giants' young bullpen, earns every bit of his 100th career save in 5-4 victory over Padres

SAN FRANCISCO – Madison Bumgarner arrived at his locker Monday afternoon to find a gift from Hunter Pence, his teammate and resident “Game of Thrones” nut.

It was a huge black helmet in the shape of a hound’s head, its snarling mouth open wide enough to allow the wearer an unobstructed view. It’s worn by Sandor Clegane, a brutish character from the show, who reminded Pence of Bumgarner.

Bumgarner received one more gift at the end of the Giants’ 5-4 victory over the San Diego Padres. It came from Santiago Casilla, the one experienced right-hander remaining in the bullpen, who rode in like a knight to the rescue with a four-out save.
