More From Minors
In their pursuit of a World Series title in 2002, the San Francisco Giants used a few different lineups to get through the season. When they traveled up to Toronto to take on the Blue Jays, they needed a DH since Barry Bonds liked to play the field, and didn’t have any other options. So it was former 12th-round pick Damon Minor.
Minor, who never was a DH before would hit .667 in the series with 2 home runs. He was never used as a DH again. Not even in the World Series where he was needed most.
