The roster shuffling continued on Friday when the San Francisco Giants optioned left-handed pitcher Andrew Suarez to the minors.
He’s made 11 appearances this season and not been particularly effective as a starter or reliever with a 7.43 ERA in 23 innings of work.
That leaves the Giants with an open spot on the active roster, and they already had an opening on the 40-man roster.
The Giants optioned Andrew Suarez to AAA Sacramento. They have a 25-man and 40-man vacancy to play with.

That leaves the San Francisco Giants with plenty of options heading into a two-game road series against the Oakland Athletics.
