The San Francisco Giants are off to a slow start, with a 3-7 record and three straight series losses to begin the 2019 season. That includes dropping two of three in interleague play against the Tampa Bay Rays over the weekend.
The early struggles shouldn’t come as a major shock to anyone.
This was always shaping up to be a rebuilding year on the heels of a 73-89 season last year, and a quiet offseason made it clear the Giants now have one eye squarely fixed on the future.
That said, there’s still enough talent on this roster to make some noise, especially if the defense and pitching can shoulder the load.
