San Francisco Giants Should Trade for Sonny Gray

The San Francisco Giants need to hit on some buy-low candidates if they are going to compete in 2019, and I don’t think Sonny Gray’s stock could be any lower.

The former first-round draft pick in 2011, Gray looked like a rising superstar after his first three seasons in the big leagues with ERAs of 2.67, 3.08, and 2.73.

Gray threw 219 and 208 innings respectively in 2014 and 2015.

He struggled to the tune of a 5.69 ERA in 2016, but bounced back with a solid 3.55 ERA between Oakland and New York in 2017.
