MIAMI — There was a time when baseball players were not welcome in their opponents’ clubhouse.
For the most part, that rule still applies. There are special exceptions, and three-time World Series champion Sergio Romo qualifies for one.
With the Giants in town to open a three-game set against Romo’s Miami Marlins, the 12th-year veteran stopped by the visiting clubhouse on Tuesday and spent more than 45 minutes chatting with teammates, coaches, old friends and his former manager.
“He came by and I had a nice talk with him,” Giants manager Bruce Bochy said. “It was great to see him.
