Ranked as the San Francisco Giants 20th best prospect by MLB.com, Garrett Williams is sure to move up the ranks with an impressive showing in the Arizona Fall League.
Through four starts he has a 0.60 ERA in 15 innings pitched with 15 strikeouts and a WHIP of 0.87. He’s allowed just one earned run on seven hits and six walks.
He was originally drafted out of high school by the San Diego Padres in the 33rd round, but elected to play college ball at Oklahoma State.
Williams struggled at the collegiate level and saw his draft stock take a hit, but the San Francisco Giants took a shot on him in the seventh round of the 2016 MLB Draft because of his potential.
