The weirdest sight on the Giants Opening Day? It was a beardless Brian Wilson running out from centerfield in full uniform, to throw out the day’s ceremonial opening pitch.
“It kind of felt like my debut,” Wilson said afterward. “A little jitters. I was concerned if I was going to pass out on my way out there.”
He didn’t. He threw a strike to Buster Posey and received a ceremonial Buster Hug.
The fans didn’t seem to know what to do with the appearance. They had just finished cheering for Willie Mays and Willie McCovey, and here came Wilson.
