Unsurprisingly, there’s a new ballplayer atop the San Francisco Giants’ list of top-30 prospects on MLB.com. 18-year-old phenom Heliot Ramos, the team’s first-round draft pick (19th overall) from 2017, has risen through the ranks and is now, officially, the team’s number-one prospect.
Ramos has captured the imaginations of Giants’ fans with his incredible skill-set, his age, and his professional debut in 2017. In Arizona Rookie League last season, Ramos hit .348/.404/.645 with 11 doubles, six triples, six home runs, and 10 stolen bases in 35 games.
MLB.com prospect expert Jim Callis says that Ramos has “probably got the highest upside of any prospect they’ve had since Buster Posey”.
