It was quite the claim, and Giants fans were no doubt less than thrilled about the assertion. So on Tuesday night, Giants broadcaster Duane Kuiper responded to the boast, declaring the Giants “couldn’t care less one way or the other what Dave Roberts says.”
Kuiper wasn’t the only announcer to take a light swipe at the opposing team.
After Los Angeles starting pitcher Julio Urias shut out San Francisco over six innings, Dodgers broadcaster — and longtime Giants foe — Orel Hershiser claimed, “Julio is the Giants' daddy.”
The traded barbs come after one of the most memorable seasons in the history of the rivalry.
