Wednesday, January 15 is the start of yet another international signing period. The San Francisco Giants didn’t get the unprecedented rose of the class, MLB-ready star pitcher Ru014dki Sasaki, but in the lead up to the 15th they’ve been praised for the players they’re set to sign with their pool of $5,146,200 (one of the lowest in baseball after signing Qualifying Offers last offseason, though they can trade for additional money).

And indeed, the Giants, as expected, kicked off the signing period by inking prized shortstop Josuar de Jesus González, widely considered one of the very best prospects in this year’s class.
