SAN DIEGO — Since the moment he arrived in San Francisco, president of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi has preached about the importance of making smart and sound financial decisions to improve the Giants’ roster.
On Tuesday at the Winter Meetings, Zaidi agreed to pay $12.67 million to acquire a player who may never take an at-bat for the Giants.
It might be one of his best moves yet.
Infielder Zack Cozart is the bigger name of the two players the Angels sent the Giants on Tuesday, but it’s prospect Will Wilson who the Giants were after all along.
