The San Francisco Giants three time World Series champion and 2014 World Series MVP pitched seven innings and struck out 11 while walking nobody. That would be good enough to be a special season debut for the team’s ace.
Bumgarner wasn’t done, however. He also hit two home runs, becoming the first pitcher in Major League baseball history to hit two home runs on Opening Day.
He also became the all-time home run leader among pitchers in the 135 year history of the San Francisco Giants.
