PITTSBURGH – When they wheeled Ryan Vogelsong into the emergency room on May 23, his left eye had swollen shut. His orbital bone was fractured in seven places. A shattered sinus meant he could only take labored breaths through his mouth.
He didn’t know if he would ever see out of his left eye again.

So yes, almost one month later, Vogelsong is counting his blessings. And he expressed gratitude to Giants fans, former teammates and coaches for the outpouring of support and well wishes that he and his wife, Nicole, received in the hours and days after a pitch from Jordan Lyles hit him in the face.
