Aaron Sanchez walked two batters with two out in the 1st and both scored on a double. The Giants got a run back in the bottom half, tied the game in the 4th, and took a 3-2 lead in the 5th. Jose Alvarez, in relief of Sanchez, allowed the tying run in the 6th. Camilo Doval and Tyler Rogers each delivered a scoreless frame but Jake McGee gave up the go-ahead homer in the 9th to Garrett Hampson. Brandon Crawford then rescued the Giants in the bottom of the 9th with a splash hit off closer Daniel Bard. In the 10th Gregory Santos unfortunately gave up two homers and the 7-4 deficit was too much to overcome.
