For the second game in a row the Giants scored five runs in the 8th inning to turn around a 6-2 deficit and go on to win. Miraculous late-inning comebacks aren't usually a sustainable winning strategy but they sure are fun. And this win brought the 2024 Giants back to a .500 record for the first time since March 31st.
Rookie shortstop Marco Luciano had three hits (including a triple) and is now hitting .409 but he also made two errors, one of them in the 9th. Camilo Doval struggled once again but managed to pull off the save thanks to an exceptional 5-3 final play from Matt Chapman and LaMonte Wade, Jr.
