All we know is that Reyes Moronta was removed from tonight’s game against the Padres three pitches into the top of the sixth inning. He had come in to relieve rookie Logan Webb who had thrown 91 pitches and given up a 2-out double. After the third pitch, he grabbed his arm and pain and rolled to the ground in front of the pitcher’s mound.
That doesn’t look good. As soon as a pitcher throws a pitch and then reacts in a manner befitting extreme pain, it’s understandable to jump to the worst possible conclusion.
