MIAMI — As his favorite post-game victory song, “Bounce It” by Juicy J, blasted through the visiting clubhouse at Marlins Park, Brandon Crawford signaled for a reporter to move out of the way so he would have a clear shot. He crumpled his dirty jersey into a ball and whipped it at a bin 20 feet away.
Joe Panik stepped in at the last second, smiled, and jabbed one arm out to knock the shot down. For Crawford, that was about the only thing that went wrong on the longest night of the season.
The shortstop became the first Giant and fifth MLB player overall to pick up seven hits in a game.
