A Jonathan Papelbon trade to the Washington Nationals is being wrapped up by the Phillies, a source tells CSNPhilly.com's Jim Salisbury Tuesday. Per the source, Papelbon will close for Washington.
According to a report by MLB.com's Todd Zolecki, the Phillies in return will receive Double-A pitcher Nick Pivetta.
Papelbon is 17 for 17 in save chances this season and became the franchise's all-time leader back on May 13 when he notched No. 113, surpassing Jose Mesa.
