Juan Uribe won a World Series with the Giants in 2010, and San Francisco reportedly is interested in a reunion.
The Giants have had discussions with the 36-year old about a utility role, but the salary ask has been too expensive, according to ESPN's Buster Olney.
Uribe signed with the Orange and Black in January 2009.
In his first campaign, he hit .289 with 16 home runs and 55 RBI over 122 games.
In 148 games in 2010, he hit .248 with 24 home runs and 85 RBI.
His tiebreaking solo shot with two outs in the eighth inning in Game 6 of the 2010 NLCS propelled the Giants to the World Series.
