The Giants have signed right-handed reliever David Hernandez to a Minor League contract, according to MLB Network insider Ken Rosenthal.
The club has not confirmed or commented on the deal.
Hernandez, 31, provides additional bullpen depth and a potential veteran presence for the Giants as they look to fill their biggest hole from last season. He posted a 3.84 ERA in 70 games for the Phillies in 2016, working mostly in the late innings.
Hernandez is 28-39 with a 4.10 ERA in 379 games (27 starts) in seven seasons with the Orioles, D-backs and Phillies.
